Welcome to The Paper Wildflower

I’m so glad you’re here!

My name is Ling and I’m a paper artist and educator based in North West UK. But more than that, I’m on a mission to overcome plant blindness. I want to inspire people to look more closely at the plants, flowers and trees they encounter, get to know them and learn their names. If you’re here, I’m pretty sure you feel the same way too. Those of us who know the names of the plants, trees and flowers have duty to talk about them! Why would people care about an ash tree when they can’t pick it out in a line up? Join me, and spread the word!

As an artist I spend my days crafting flowers, teaching others how to craft flowers, and talking and writing about flowers. In 2019 when I discovered the art of paper flowers I immediately recognised the key to rewilding my life. In 2020, discovering a local network of walks in rewilded spaces, I rediscovered my dormant childhood passion for wildflowers. The Paper Wildflower was launched in 2023 to create a space to share the love of plants and wildflowers - and a little bit of my art.
